About
Fine art landscape, travel, wildlife, and event photography
Jay Lyon is a photographer based in northwestern Vermont whose work centers on landscape and fine-art imagery, often with moments of bird and wildlife observation. He has been a long-time participant in the Lenses on the Land photography program at Shelburne Farms and is working to help revive the initiative following the tragic passing of Marshall Webb, whose vision and leadership were integral to its success.
When he isn’t out chasing early light across the Green Mountains or along Lake Champlain, Jay is frequently behind a camera at his children’s swim meets, cross-country races, tennis matches, and concerts. He does his best to photograph their teammates too and shares those images freely in the Events section of the website.
Travel also plays a central role in Jay’s photography, where exploration and image-making are often inseparable.
While he pursues photography primarily for the enjoyment of it, his work has appeared in several small exhibitions, he has sold a number of prints, and select images are available as stock through Shutterstock. For print inquiries or licensing, please reach out by email.
