About Jay Lyon

Fine art landscape, travel, wildlife, and event photography

Jay Lyon is a Vermont-based photographer with a focus on landscapes and fine-art imagery, often catching moments of bird and wildlife activity along the way. He’s been a longtime participant in the Lenses on the Land program at Shelburne Farms and is helping to revive the initiative following the passing of its founder, Marshall Webb, whose vision shaped much of its success.

When he’s not out chasing early light across the Green Mountains or along Lake Champlain, Jay can usually be found behind the camera at his kids’ swim meets, cross-country races, tennis matches, and concerts. He shares many of those images, of his children and their teammates alike, in the Events section of this site.

Travel also fuels much of his work, where photography and exploration naturally go hand in hand.

Though photography remains a passion rather than a profession, Jay’s images have appeared in several small exhibitions, and a number of his prints are in private collections. Select works are also available as stock through Shutterstock. For print inquiries or licensing, please reach out by email.
