The CVU Relays have become an annual tradition for South Burlington's cross-country team, a fun, low-stakes way to kick off the season together before individual racing begins in earnest. This year's edition, held in Hinesburg, paired runners into 2-person relay teams over 2.0-mile legs, with the top three teams scored — a welcome change of pace from the usual individual-start format. The boys relay team of Jack Donovan and Jack Henry took first place, with Henry running a personal-best 11:36 and Donovan close behind at 11:48, both cutting 8 seconds off last year's times. Freshman Briar Parlante followed at 12:23. Hayden Nahstoll cut 1:35 off his time to finish in 12:43, ahead of Joe Jackson (12:57), Peter Lyon (13:06, down 0:29), and Sam Robinson (13:54, down 0:46). Rounding out the results were Dave Lawrence (14:35), freshman Charlie Lockwood (15:44), Vincent Cotto (15:56), Mason Soter (15:57, down 0:49), freshman Roman Ober (19:14), and Leo Frank (19:23).
